Motor Shaft Misalignment

One of the most common and costly causes of premature motor and equipment failure is shaft misalignment. Whether it’s between a motor and a pump, a motor and a gearbox, or any other coupled equipment, even slight misalignments can have significant consequences if left unchecked. Fortunately, advancements in Reliability AI are giving maintenance teams the ability to detect these issues long before they become catastrophic failures.

Gearbox

Inside the Motor Control Center (MCC), voltage and current transformers (VTs and CTs) are already installed to monitor and protect the motor. Reliability AI taps into these existing sensors without requiring additional instrumentation.

By applying advanced algorithms, the platform monitors the magnetic field disturbances reflected in the current and voltage waveforms. Over time, it learns the healthy “baseline” of the machine and flags when new, repeatable disturbances begin to emerge.

Bearing Monitoring

In rotating equipment, bearings quietly carry the load — literally and figuratively. They keep shafts aligned, reduce friction, and ensure smooth operation of everything from fans and pumps to compressors and conveyors. But when bearings begin to fail, the consequences ripple across the entire system. Vibrations increase, efficiency drops, and in worst cases, catastrophic damage can occur.
